Romeo Makore is a dynamic U.S. tax professional with over seven years of experience, including four years in senior roles with Big Four and top-tier firms across the United States. He specialises in global mobility, high-net-worth individuals, asset management, and international payroll compliance — combining strong technical acumen with a personal passion for solving complex cross-border challenges.
Romeo began his career with EY in New York before moving into senior roles at Deloitte, PwC, and most recently Grant Thornton US, where he worked in the Wealth & Human Capital Solutions team advising senior executives, expatriates, and global employers on tax equalisation, cost projections, and compliance planning.
With the support of Think Global Recruitment, Romeo made a major international move in October 2024, relocating from Atlanta to join PwC in the Cayman Islands as a US Tax Senior. There, he continues to provide high-level advisory services in one of the world’s most prominent offshore financial centres, working with hedge funds, private equity firms, and multinational clients.
Romeo is fluent in English, conversational in French, and known for his client-first approach, collaborative leadership, and ability to deliver cost-saving insights and operational improvements. His journey from Zimbabwe to the U.S. and now the Caribbean reflects the growing global demand for U.S. tax expertise — and his story offers invaluable insights for any accountant considering an international move.
