We are recruiting a Regulatory Compliance Manager or Senior Manager for an established international professional services firm in Malta. This is not a role for somebody who wants to spend every day working within one narrow area of compliance. Instead, you will work across a varied portfolio encompassing financial services, gaming, manufacturing, sport, and other commercial sectors. One client could require advice around its regulatory framework, another could need support with risk or data protection, while another presents an entirely different regulatory challenge. Take the Lead Joining at Manager or Senior Manager level, you will take day-to-day responsibility for a small Regulatory Compliance team and report to the department’s senior leadership.   • Leading and developing members of the Regulatory Compliance team
  • Advising clients across a broad range of regulatory and compliance matters
  • Working with Maltese and European Union legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Providing guidance across areas including regulatory compliance, risk and data protection
  • Managing relationships with senior client stakeholders
  • Overseeing multiple engagements across different industries
  • Helping clients understand changing regulatory expectations and translate them into practical action
  • Maintaining high standards of client service and delivery
  • Supporting the continued development of the Regulatory Compliance offering

Business development experience would be welcome, but you are not expected to arrive and build a client portfolio from scratch. There is already work coming into the team. Who Would This Suit? You will probably already be operating at Manager or Senior Manager level, or have equivalent senior-level experience within regulatory compliance. Most importantly, your knowledge needs to have breadth. Perhaps you have developed your career in professional services or consultancy, where moving between clients has naturally given you exposure to different industries and regulatory challenges. Experience gained in a smaller advisory firm could be equally interesting if it has enabled you to become a genuinely rounded regulatory professional. You should be able to demonstrate:

  • Broad regulatory compliance experience rather than experience restricted to one specialist discipline
  • Strong recent experience advising on regulatory matters
  • Malta or wider European regulatory exposure
  • Genuine people-management experience
  • Confidence communicating with clients and senior stakeholders
  • The judgement and personality to operate effectively with senior leadership
  • Experience working across different organisations, industries or regulatory challenges
  • A relevant qualification, ideally at Malta Qualifications Framework Level 6 or equivalent, in areas such as business, law or compliance

You will need presence as well as technical knowledge. The person joining this team will be expected to lead people, hold credible conversations with senior clients and be confident enough to express a professional view when the situation demands it.
