Where your morning starts with warm ocean air instead of traffic, and your workday influences decisions that ripple across the global insurance market, this is a career move that changes more than just your job title.
Based in Bermuda, this opportunity places you at the centre of one of the world’s most sophisticated reinsurance hubs, joining a globally recognised Top Four Advisory firm as a Risk & Internal Audit Manager. Here, technical expertise meets real influence in a market where your work is seen, valued, and felt.
Why Bermuda? Why Now?
Bermuda isn’t just visually stunning; it’s commercially powerful. The island sits at the core of the global (re)insurance industry, home to major carriers, cutting-edge ILS platforms, and a highly interconnected financial ecosystem.
Life here moves differently. Your commute is measured in minutes. Your weekends are spent on the water, not recovering from the week. And professionally, you’re operating in a market where access to senior stakeholders and decision-makers is the norm, not the exception.
For those looking to step up, stand out, and experience something genuinely different, Bermuda offers a rare combination of pace, prestige, and lifestyle.
The Opportunity
You’ll join a high-calibre Advisory team within a globally respected firm, known for its strength in governance, risk and insurance advisory. The Bermuda office works seamlessly with international teams, delivering complex engagements to a diverse and high-value client base.
This is a key growth hire. Risk and internal audit services are expanding, and this role offers the chance to play a visible part in that journey, shaping both client outcomes and the team’s direction.
In this role, you will:
- Lead internal audit engagements for (re)insurance clients
- Deliver and oversee SOX / ICFR advisory work
- Provide enterprise risk and governance insights
- Support regulatory compliance across financial crime and AML frameworks
- Contribute to business process improvements and transformation projects
- Build strong client relationships and support business development
- Engage with the local insurance market and professional community
You will manage and develop a collaborative team, working closely with senior leadership in an environment where contributions are recognised quickly.
What’s on offer
- Salary: Starting from a highly competitive, tax-free base + bonus
- Relocation package to support your move
- Pension, private medical and life insurance
- 28 days’ holiday
- Hybrid working after onboarding
- A culture that genuinely supports work-life balance
And beyond the role, a lifestyle that feels like a permanent upgrade from world-class beaches to a thriving social and professional scene.
Career Progression
In a market like Bermuda, progression is accelerated and transparent. With continued growth in the insurance sector, there is a clear pathway to Senior Manager and beyond.
Your visibility, client impact, and ability to build relationships will directly influence your progression, and in a close-knit market, that impact is quickly recognised.
Why Make the Move?
- Work at the centre of a globally significant reinsurance market
- Take on a leadership role with real visibility and influence
- Build relationships with senior stakeholders across the industry
- Strengthen your profile with offshore Top Four experience
- Experience a lifestyle that complements, not competes with, your career
Who We’re Looking For
You are technically strong, commercially aware, and confident operating in a client-facing environment. You understand internal audit, risk frameworks, and the regulatory landscape within insurance.
You’ll likely bring:
- 5+ years’ internal audit experience within insurance or financial services
- Experience in a Top Four or professional services environment (or relevant industry leadership experience), preferably gained in a similar market such as the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or Canada
- Strong knowledge of SOX / ICFR and controls frameworks
- Exposure to regulatory environments (e.g. Solvency II, AML, prudential regulation)
- A recognised qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA, CIA or equivalent)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Just as importantly, you’re someone who engages with clients, with the market, and with opportunities beyond the day-to-day. In Bermuda, presence matters.
If you’re ready to step into a role where your work carries weight and your lifestyle reflects it, this could be the move that defines your next chapter.
