Swap grey skies for pink sand. Trade the commute for a sunrise swim. Step into a leadership role where your technical expertise in insurance internal audit doesn’t just tick boxes, it shapes the risk landscape of one of the world’s most important reinsurance markets. This is your opportunity to join a global Big Four Advisory practice in Bermuda at the Manager level, helping to drive and grow a specialist Risk Consulting team at the heart of the international (re)insurance industry. Why Bermuda? Why Now? Bermuda isn’t just turquoise water and year-round sunshine (though you’ll get plenty of that). It’s one of the world’s leading reinsurance hubs – home to global carriers, innovative start-ups, captives and ILS structures. The market is sophisticated, technical and fast-moving. Decisions are made here that influence capital flows and risk strategy across North America, Europe and beyond. Imagine finishing a board presentation and paddling your board before sunset. Networking with senior insurance leaders at industry events where everyone knows your name. Living in a safe, vibrant island community with world-class restaurants, diving, sailing and golf all within 20 minutes of the office. For ambitious insurance risk professionals from the UK, Ireland, Canada, the US or the Channel Islands, Bermuda offers both lifestyle and career acceleration in equal measure. The Opportunity You’ll join a high-performing Advisory team within a global Top Four firm known for technical excellence, strong governance capability, and deep insurance expertise. The Bermuda practice serves an international client base and works closely with colleagues across the wider island network and the global firm. This is a growth role. The team has expanded. Leadership sees insurance risk as a major strategic focus area. For the right person, this is not just a delivery role – it’s a platform. As Manager, you will:

  • Lead and deliver internal audit engagements for (re)insurance clients
  • Oversee SOX / ICFR advisory and assurance projects
  • Provide enterprise risk management and governance advisory services
  • Advise on regulatory compliance, including financial crime and AML frameworks
  • Support business process reviews and transformation initiatives
  • Drive client relationships and contribute to business development activity
  • Represent the firm in the local insurance community

You’ll manage and mentor a small, collaborative team (circa six), working closely with Senior Managers, Directors and a highly respected Partner. It’s delivery-focused, hands-on and visible. In a market this size, your reputation builds quickly. What’s On Offer

  • Salary: Generous salary, Plus Bonus
  • Relocation package
  • Pension, medical and life insurance
  • 28 days’ holiday
  • Hybrid working after the initial onboarding period
  • Tax-free salary

The team offers a strong work-life balance, and in Bermuda, life outside work is exceptional. Career Progression In a growing insurance market, progress is tangible. Strong performers can expect promotion to Senior Manager, with a clear pathway toward Director and ultimately Partner. Business development, client impact and market presence are key, and in a smaller jurisdiction, your efforts are visible and rewarded. Why Make the Move? This role offers:

  • Exposure to a globally significant reinsurance market
  • Leadership responsibility within a focused, high-growth team
  • Direct access to senior decision-makers and Partners
  • A genuine lifestyle upgrade
  • The chance to differentiate your CV with offshore Big Four insurance experience

Who We’re Looking For You are technically strong, genuinely so. You understand internal audit methodology, prudential regulation, and the nuances of insurance and reinsurance operations. You can discuss governance frameworks, ICFR, financial crime risk and regulatory expectations with credibility at the Board level. You likely bring:

  • 5+ years’ internal audit experience within insurance or wider financial services
  • Experience in a Big Four or professional services environment (industry leadership experience also valued)
  • Strong knowledge of SOX / ICFR and financial reporting controls
  • Exposure to insurance regulatory environments (e.g. Solvency II, prudential frameworks, AML)
  • A recognised accounting or audit qualification (CPA, CA, ACA, ACCA, CIA or equivalent)
  • Confident presentation and report-writing skills
  • A genuine interest in and engagement with the insurance market

Just as important: you’re visible. You build relationships. You attend industry events. You contribute thought leadership. In a close-knit market like Bermuda, personality and presence matter. If you’re ready to combine technical excellence with a bold career move and swap the ordinary for something extraordinary, this could be the defining step in your professional journey.
