What if your next promotion also came with a better European lifestyle? Imagine finishing work in one of Europe’s most international financial centres, stepping onto free public transport and being home without losing your evening to a long commute. Then Friday arrives, and France, Germany and Belgium are all within easy reach for the weekend. Welcome to Luxembourg: small enough to make everyday life easy, international enough to make your career significantly bigger. We are looking for an IT Audit Manager to join a fast-growing Big Four technology audit and risk practice. You will take on genuine Manager responsibility, work with major financial services organisations and build your expertise in a team investing in the technologies and risks that will shape the next decade. If you have been waiting for a move that advances your career without taking you away from the heart of Europe, this could be it. Your next step in IT Audit This is not a role where you inherit a portfolio and simply keep everything ticking over. The team is growing. Its client base is developing. Its services are expanding. And it needs an experienced IT Auditor who can lead assignments, develop people and become a trusted pair of hands for complex work. You will:
- Lead IT audit and technology assurance engagements from planning through to delivery
- Work predominantly with major organisations across banking, asset management, insurance and the wider financial services market
- Assess technology environments, controls, systems and processes against increasingly complex regulatory requirements
- Manage and coach junior members of the team, helping them develop technically and professionally
- Build strong relationships with clients and senior stakeholders
- Maintain the high standards of delivery expected within a leading international professional services firm
- Contribute to the continued development of a growing practice and its client portfolio
There is also the opportunity to develop your knowledge around emerging technologies and digital risk, including artificial intelligence, automation and other areas changing the way organisations operate, control risk and provide assurance. In other words, you will not just audit yesterday’s technology. Why move to Luxembourg? Because you can build an international career here without sacrificing the things you enjoy outside work. Luxembourg is one of Europe’s major financial centres, creating an unusually concentrated market for an IT Audit professional who wants exposure to sophisticated banks, asset managers, insurers and international businesses. Yet away from work, life can feel surprisingly relaxed. The country is green, safe, multilingual and exceptionally international. Public transport across Luxembourg is free, the airport is close to the city, and France, Belgium and Germany are literally your neighbours. You can spend Saturday wandering through Strasbourg, head into Germany for the weekend, explore Belgium or simply stay local and enjoy Luxembourg’s forests, restaurants, cafés and historic old town. It is international living without feeling overwhelmingly big. The experience we are looking for You will already have built a solid career in IT Audit and be ready to use that experience at Manager level. Ideally, you will have:
- At least five years of relevant IT Audit experience
- Certified Information Systems Auditor certification
- Experience gained within a Big Four, Top Ten or other well-regarded professional services firm
- Native or C1-level German language skills
- The right to work in the European Union
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
Financial services experience, particularly within banking, asset management or insurance, would be highly advantageous. Most importantly, you will care about the quality of your work. This is an environment where technical credibility matters and where doing the job properly comes before making noise about it. A Big Four platform with room to grow You will be joining one of the world’s leading professional services organisations, but the attraction here is the combination of that international platform with a Luxembourg team that is still actively growing. That gives you access to complex international work, established methodologies, specialist knowledge and serious investment in technology, while still having the opportunity to make your mark locally. Professional development is taken seriously. There is structured career coaching, ongoing technical and leadership learning, support for relevant professional qualifications and opportunities to build an international network. The wider working environment also includes hybrid and flexible working arrangements, a strong wellbeing programme and generous annual leave. This is a firm that has the resources of a global organisation but wants its people to keep developing rather than standing still. Quality first. Growth built on top of it. The leadership philosophy behind the team is refreshingly straightforward: deliver outstanding work first, then grow the business the right way. For an experienced IT Auditor, that matters. You are joining a practice where your reputation is built on the quality of what you deliver, where you can develop other people and where growth creates opportunities rather than simply adding workload. Could Luxembourg be your next move? If you have reached the point where another year doing the same job in the same market does not feel particularly exciting, this is worth exploring. You could gain the Manager title, broaden your international financial services experience, work with emerging technology and build your career in one of Europe’s most connected and cosmopolitan locations. And when the working week finishes, the rest of Europe is waiting just beyond your doorstep.
