Imagine swapping grey commutes and crowded trains for turquoise waters, year-round sunshine and a lifestyle where your lunch break could include a walk along a palm-fringed beach. This is an opportunity to build your international audit career in one of the Caribbean’s leading financial centres, working with a respected mid-tier professional services firm while enjoying a quality of life most accountants only experience on holiday. This firm is a highly regarded international accounting and advisory firm with a long-established presence in the Caribbean. Combining the supportive culture of a smaller office with the technical exposure typically associated with much larger firms, they offer ambitious accountants the chance to take ownership of engagements, work directly with senior leadership and accelerate their progression in a genuinely collaborative environment. The island itself is renowned for its thriving financial services sector, vibrant expat community, world-class sailing, diving, and water sports, as well as a growing tourism industry that attracts visitors from around the globe. Finance and tourism form the backbone of the economy, creating a diverse and interesting client portfolio. The Opportunity Joining a close-knit audit team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of clients, including:
- Financial services businesses
- Investment and fund structures
- Insurance organisations
- Trust and fiduciary entities
- Hospitality and tourism businesses
- Public sector and statutory organisations
Unlike many larger firms, where work can become heavily segmented, you will be involved throughout the entire audit lifecycle, from planning and risk assessment through to completion and reporting. Most engagements are undertaken in small teams, providing significant responsibility and client interaction from an early stage. What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing audit assignments from planning through to completion
- Preparing and reviewing audit working papers
- Building strong relationships with clients
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members where appropriate
- Applying IFRS across a varied client base
- Working closely with managers and directors on complex engagements
- Contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture
What We’re Looking For We are particularly interested in accountants trained in:
- United Kingdom
- Ireland
- South Africa
Due to the experience of a similar market and regulations. You should ideally have:
- ACA, ACCA, CA(SA) or equivalent qualification
- Audit experience gained within a reputable accounting firm
- Strong knowledge of IFRS
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A confident, outgoing and professional approach
- A genuine desire to embrace island life and an international career
Financial services experience is welcomed but is not essential. Accountants from general practice or mixed-sector audit backgrounds will also be considered. Why Make the Move?
- Exceptional work-life balance compared with many major city firms
- Strong salary plus benefits
- Relocation assistance provided
- Temporary accommodation on arrival
- Annual bonus potential
- Exposure to international and offshore clients
- Genuine progression opportunities
- Smaller engagement teams with greater responsibility
- Supportive and approachable leadership team
- Strong expat community and active social scene
This is an outstanding opportunity for an adventurous accountant seeking international experience, greater responsibility and a lifestyle that combines career progression with sunshine, beaches and outdoor living. If you’ve qualified recently or are already operating at the Audit Senior level and are looking for something different from the traditional city accounting career path, we’d love to hear from you.
