Nationally Recognised NFP Practice Not every audit role lets you build a reputation. This one does.
This is a rare opportunity to join a well-established Not for Profit audit team in Manchester, working with organisations that sit at the heart of communities, education, and social impact across the UK. The firm is known nationally for its work in the Not for Profit space and is continuing to invest in this team as demand grows. If you want to specialise, be known for something, and progress on merit, this role delivers all three. What Makes This Role Different You will not be dropped into a generic audit pool. You will work with a broad Not for Profit client base, including:

  • Charities and grant-funded organisations
  • Education providers, academies, and independent schools
  • Membership organisations and professional bodies
  • Social purpose and housing-related entities

  • Lead external audits across the Not for Profit sector from planning to completion
  • Manage a varied client portfolio, delivering a proactive, year-round service
  • Present audit findings to senior finance teams, Boards, and Audit Committees
  • Oversee and develop audit teams, with a strong focus on coaching and quality
  • Work closely with Directors and Partners in a highly accessible leadership structure
  • Support proposals and contribute to the continued growth of the NFP practice

This role suits:

  • An established Audit Manager, or
  • A strong Assistant Manager ready to step into a Manager role
  • Previous Not for Profit audit experience is essential.

Progression & Culture The Not for Profit team is intentionally lean, which means:

  • High visibility
  • Direct access to decision-makers
  • Clear progression opportunities as the team grows

Promotion here is not driven by rigid timelines. When you are ready, you move and double promotions are possible. Across the wider firm:

  • Many senior leaders joined as trainees or graduates
  • A firm-wide people survey showed 85% of staff rate the people as the best part of working here
  • Feedback is actively listened to and acted upon

Manchester is the firm’s most diverse office, with regular:

  • Cultural celebrations
  • Community and charity initiatives
  • Firm-supported volunteering projects
  • Monthly social events, sports teams, and wellbeing programmes

Location, Relocation & Visas

  • Visa sponsorship available if you have been in the UK for the last 2 years or more

What They Are Looking For

  • ACA / ACCA / ICAS qualified
  • Proven Not for Profit audit experience
  • Strong technical and organisational skills
  • Experience managing teams and delivering audits to deadline
  • Background from Big Four, mid-tier, or strong smaller firms welcomed

In Short This is a role for someone who wants to build depth, credibility, and influence in the Not for Profit sector within a firm that backs its people properly.
