A growing and forward-moving accounting and advisory firm in Wellington is looking for a Business Advisory Senior to join the team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who’s built a strong technical foundation and is ready for more variety, responsibility, and exposure to clients. The OpportunityYou’ll work across a diverse range of businesses, getting hands-on experience with financial reporting, tax, and day-to-day client work. You’ll have the chance to take ownership of your tasks, build confidence working directly with clients, and continue developing your technical skills in a supportive team environment. What You’ll Be Doing Client Work
- Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and related compliance work
- Complete reconciliations and maintain well-organised working papers
- Draft reports, emails, and supporting documentation
- Spot errors or inconsistencies and raise them where needed
- Apply learnings from previous work to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Take responsibility for sections of client engagements
Team & Learning
- Work closely with your team and build strong working relationships
- Support junior team members where appropriate
- Be an active participant in team meetings and training
- Keep building your technical knowledge and confidence
Day-to-Day
- Manage your time to meet deadlines and deliver quality work
- Communicate progress and ask questions when needed
- Stay organised and keep documentation up to standard
- Assist with admin and billing tasks as required
About You
- CA qualified (or working towards it)
- Around 3+ years’ experience in accounting or professional services
- Advisory experience preferred but technically strong auditors can apply
- Strong understanding of financial statements and tax basics
- Detail-oriented and takes pride in producing accurate work
- Confident communicator who enjoys working in a team
- Experience with tools like Xero, MYOB, or similar
